Hosted by Natali- It's only appropriate that Natali's first solo episode is with Steve Haase. He has been her major mentor, good friend, and fellow river rat for over 15 years. He even named his daughter Natalie, after her!
This Episode is hosted by Natali Zollinger-
Steve Haase is a commercial raft guide in Moab, Utah. He has spent the last 44 years guiding, managing and privately boating the rivers in the Southwest Region.
He has been her mentor, good friend, and fellow river rat for over 15 years. He even named his daughter Natalie, after her!
We start this episode with his story, his connection to the river, his tips on how to be a lifetime river guide as well as a good trip leader.
We then dive into the highwater year of 1983/1984 and what it was like to be a Riverguide during that time.
We end with his favorite river stretch, river craft and who his greatest mentors are.
It was a windy day in Moab when we recorded which makes the audio a little choppy. Sorry everyone! I promise it's still worth listening to :)
In the show we talk about:
1983 Highwater on Cataract Canyon
1983 Grand Canyon Highwater Video (narrated by my buddy Jeffe Aronson)
Lorna Carson. Female Inspiration in the Grand Canyon
1983 Highwater Video at Snaggletooth Rapid on the Dolores River
